All along, I thought the cow in my book would be named Lucy. I’ve used the name in all the writing. I love and have a very dear spot in my heart for the name. I’ve always planned on naming my daughter Lucy (if I am lucky enough to have a daughter someday). But the other day it hit me. Do I really want to name my daughter after a cow?
Perhaps instead, I should reserve the name for the girl in my book. Here is her sketch, without color. She looks like a Lucy doesn’t she?
After all, she needs a name. She can’t just be called the little girl. So then, I’m left with another question. What should I name my cow? I like the name Luella, but it doesn’t flow when I replace it. I would prefer the name to be two syllables like Lucy. So here are some of my ideas:
I’m particularly fond of Dolly.
Does she look like a Dolly? What do you think? Any other suggestions?
