The Luck of the Loch Ness Monster is a legend of the rise of the great mysterious sea creature of Scotland. It also ties in the all too familiar experience of being forced to eat your oatmeal. Flaherty does a beautiful job of keeping the writing of the story concise, simple, and to the point. She leaves the mood and tone up to the illustrator, Magoon, who’s illustrations seamlessly jump in, right where the words leave off.
The illustrations are creative, rich with pattern and texture.
But the sadness doesn’t stick around for long… The simplistic writing and illustrative pages provide great harmony. The Luck of the Loch Ness Monster is a creative and beautiful read that leaves you with a smile.
