A couple weeks ago, a group that my sister and I started together, hosted a Food Swap.
The idea was to bring homemade or foraged food items to trade with others. I brought homemade lip balm from our bees’ beeswax, blackberry cordial from wild blackberries picked on our property, homemade kahlua, and fresh honey from our little girls. I had fun making labels and packaging my items up.
In the next few posts I’ll describe my processes and recipes for the products. The Food Swap was an awesome way to meet people in my community doing neat things, share some of the projects I have made and enjoy the handiwork of others!I got a whole slew of goodies from everyone who attended the swap and we are already planning our next swap. If you hear of an event like this near you, I highly recommend attending. And if you are interested in hosting an event like this, check out http://www.foodswapnetwork.com/ I also found lots of inspiration for items to bring on various Pinterest boards such as this one http://pinterest.com/whispersiren/food-swap-ideas/
